Lawyer Referral Service in New Haven, Connecticut

Established in 1952, the New Haven County Bar Association (NHCBA) sponsors a Lawyer Referral Service (LRS). The LRS helps individuals and businesses find a qualified attorney experienced in the needed practice area of the law.

When you call the service, a trained staff person will take the call. The referral specialist will ask you a few questions to determine which type of attorney is needed. In exchange for a $35 non-refundable processing fee, the referral specialist will match you with an attorney that serves on one of the panels of the service. The $35 processing fee is waived for cases involving personal injury and Social Security benefits.

After receiving the referral, you can then contact the attorney for a 30 minute consultation to discuss the case and the attorney fees needed for additional representation. Neither the attorney nor the client is obligated to continue the representation beyond the initial consultation.

Ideally, the service helps the individual or business find a qualified attorney to take the case and help solve the legal problem or concern. These community based lawyer referral services in the State of Connecticut provide an alternative to searching for an attorney on the internet or using an online attorney directory.
