About the SACDLA

Mission and History

Established in April of 1999, the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (SACDLA) is comprised of attorneys actively engaged in defense of criminal cases in the State, County or Municipal Courts in Bexar County, Texas, including the Bexar County Justice Center, or in the Federal Courts of the Western District of Texas.

The SACDLA provides support, education, and networking opportunities for local criminal defense attorneys. It also serves to educate the public on the importance of preserving an individual's Constitutional Rights within the criminal justice system. The SACDLA promotes the competent and ethical representation of persons accused of a crime.

Categories of Membership

The SACDLA has 6 different categories of membership including:

Contributing Member - $150 a year;
Regular Member - $75 a year;
Federal Public Defender for TXWD - $25 a year;
Bexar County Public Defender - Free;
First Year Lawyer - $30 a year;
St. Mary's Law Student - $30 a year.
