Critical Kids Online Safety Bills Advance Through Senate Committee

WASHINGTON, DC—American Association for Justice (AAJ) CEO Linda Lipsen issued the following statement after the Senate Commerce Committee passed the bipartisan Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), the CHATBOT Act, and the Youth AI Privacy Act:  "In courts around the country, parents, school districts, and state AGs are fighting tirelessly to shine a light on Big Tech’s exploitative and dangerous decisions that target, manipulate, and hurt America’s kids and teens in pursuit of profit. The first two social media trials unsealed thousands of internal company documents revealing tech’s long history of prioritizing their companies’ growth over the lives and safety of children. It is imperative that any congressional action protects the cases filed by parents and schools, as well as the stronger state laws on which they are based.
