AAJ Statement Opposing Dangerous AI Executive Order
WASHINGTON, D.C.—American Association for Justice (AAJ) CEO Linda Lipsen issued the following statement opposing the Trump administration’s Executive Order on artificial intelligence (AI):
"At a time when an ever-increasing number of Americans are being hurt, defrauded, and exploited by AI technology, it’s deeply disappointing that this Executive Order seeks to take power from the American people and hand it over to the federal government. Meanwhile, this will allow AI companies to act with impunity, no matter the cost.
"Leaders in both red and blue states alike have fought hard to implement real protections against the dangers of AI, but rather than empowering communities at the state and local levels, this legally dubious order seeks to undo all of this bipartisan progress. In the absence of meaningful safeguards at the federal level, we stand firmly behind state officials and policymakers as they seek to protect their communities against Big Tech." ### The American Association for Justice works to safeguard rights, promote fairness, and strengthen access to civil justice—even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations. AAJ’s vision is justice for all.
