AAJ Statement Opposing the EPA’s Dangerous Chemical Evaluation Rule

WASHINGTON, DC—American Association for Justice President Bruce Plaxen released the following statement after submitting public comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) opposing its proposed chemical evaluation rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA):

"The EPA’s proposed chemical evaluation rule is dangerous, shortsighted, and represents a clear departure from Congress’ bipartisan intentions when it amended TSCA in 2016. The proposal would seriously weaken public health and worker protections—making it easier for chemical companies to put dangerous chemicals on the market. American lives should never be put at risk for the sake of efficiency."
