Twenty Law School Teams Advance to Finals in National Student Trial Advocacy Competition

Washington, DC — Today, the American Association for Justice (AAJ) announced that 20 law school teams will compete for the national title in the 2024 Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC) following the regional competitions last week.
More than 600 law students, comprising 160 teams from 10 regions across the country, participated in the regional competition from Thursday, March 7th through Sunday, March 10th. The 20 finalist teams will now gather in Chicago, from April 4th to April 7th, to compete for the national title.
The competition is open to all law schools nationwide, to provide law students with an opportunity to develop and practice trial advocacy skills in front of distinguished members of the bar and bench. For more than 30 years, AAJ has hosted STAC, with AAJ attorney members committing their time and talents to serve as competition judges and help develop the event.
"AAJ congratulates the 20 finalist teams advancing to the STAC nationals! This competition is the starting point for the future of civil justice and the legal talent that will help shape our nation in the coming years," said AAJ President Sean Domnick. "I enjoy judging this competition every year and look forward to watching these teams compete for the national title in Chicago."
