Sean Domnick Sworn in as New President of Plaintiff Trial Bar

Washington, DC — Trial lawyer Sean Domnick was sworn in as the new president of the American Association for Justice (AAJ®) during its 2023 Annual Convention in Philadelphia. Domnick, a shareholder in the law firm of Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., specializes in catastrophic injury cases in the fields of product liability, medical negligence, wrongful death, nursing home abuse and general personal injury cases.

During a law school summer internship Domnick discovered a passion for civil litigation and fighting on behalf of plaintiffs experiencing devastating injuries and hardship. That has led to a three-decade career, culminating in today’s recognition as a leader in the plaintiff bar with a national practice dedicated to catastrophic injury.

"AAJ’s vast yet tight-knit community has been invaluable in my career, connecting me with other attorneys across the world who have helped strengthen my abilities. There’s a saying that you come to AAJ for many reasons, but everyone stays for the relationships," said Domnick. "It is my privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with other trial attorneys who help one another become better advocates for their clients. We are uniquely situated as an association fighting to preserve access to justice through the 7th amendment right to trial by jury."

Shortly after joining the Florida Bar, Domnick realized that part of fighting for his clients was advocating to protect their rights, so he joined the Florida Justice Association (FJA). His active involvement with FJA led him to AAJ where he became a valued voice and leader in the association. He has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award three times and contributed his time and talents to many committees and boards in the organization, while lending his expertise to educational programming as a lecturer on trial advocacy. Domnick is an active member and held leadership positions including president of both the Miami Dade Justice Association and the Palm Beach County Justice Association. He has also held leadership positions and is a member of the Florida Justice Association.

The AAJ officers joining Domnick include Immediate Past President Tad Thomas in Louisville, Ky.; President-Elect Lori Andrus of Andrus Anderson LLP in San Francisco; Vice President Bruce Plaxen of Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. in Columbia, Md.; Secretary N. John Bey of Bey & Associates in Atlanta; Treasurer Marion Munley of Munley Law in Scranton, Pa; and Parliamentarian Christopher Nace of Paulson & Nace, PLLC in Washington, D.C.
