Bipartisan Majority of U.S. Senators Vote to End Forced Arbitration for Survivors of Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault

Washington, DC  — The following is a statement from American Association for Justice CEO Linda Lipsen after the United States Senate passed the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act, HR 4445:
"This achievement is due to the countless number of survivors and advocates who raised their voices and demanded action. Finally, those who engage in or enable sexual harassment and abuse will no longer have the ‘get out of jail free card’ that forced arbitration had provided them for far too long.
"The members of Congress who voted in an overwhelming, bipartisan manner to empower survivors -- and give them the choice on how to seek justice -- deserve our gratitude for their courage and action. We look forward to President Biden signing this historic legislation into law."
