At Lawyer Legion we recognize the importance of Lawyer Referral Services. These services help individuals and businesses find a qualified attorney. In the State of Virginia, the State Bar manages the Virginia Lawyer Referral Service (VLRS) out of its office in Richmond, VA.
For more than 30 years, the VLRS has been helping individuals and businesses find an attorney in Virginia. The attorneys that participate in the LRS are in in good standing practicing law in a variety of different areas of the law. The LRS estimates that it handles more than 50 referral a day or 1,200 referrals a year.
If you call the service then a trained staff member will ask you a few questions about your case or legal matter. When appropriate, the service will give you a referral to a private attorney in your geographic area who practices in the needed area of the law.
After the referral, you are free to contact that attorney for a 30 minute consultation in exchange for a $35 consultation fee paid to the VLRS. The fee must be paid in advance. During the consultation, you can talk with the attorney about the legal issue and the attorneys fees required for additional representation.
Neither the client nor the attorney has any obligation to continue the representation beyond the initial 30 minute consultation. Lawyer Referral Services provide an alternative to searching online for an attorney or using an online attorney directory.
