The Hampshire County Bar Association sponsors a Lawyer Referral Service from its offices in Northampton, MA. This community based public service helps individuals find a qualified attorney focused on the needed practice area of the law.

Over the years, the attorneys that participate in the service have served thousands of referral clients. The lawyer referral service helps individuals who can afford reasonable attorney fees but need help finding an attorney. The service does not provide referrals for pro bono services.

When you call the service, a trained staff person will ask you a few questions about your case. When appropriate, you will receive a referral to a local attorney. The attorneys that participate in the service have agreed to provide a 30 minute consultation at no charge. During the initial consultation, you can discuss your case with the attorney and the attorney fees needed for additional representation.

Attorneys that participate in the service must be eligible to practice law in Massachusetts and be in good standing with the Hampshire County Bar Association. Depending on their experience, the attorneys serve on different panels related to their area of concentration. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
