The El Paco County Bar Association in Colorado Springs has established a Lawyer Referral Service to help individuals and businesses find a qualified attorney. The service screens attorneys to determine their eligibility to service on a panel for a particular practice area.
The Lawyer Referral Service also ensures that the attorney has a clean disciplinary record and carries liability insurance. The service makes referrals for attorneys in El Paso County and Teller County, Colorado.
Attorneys that participate in the service are experienced in different practice areas such as personal injury, wrongful death, slip and fall, medical malpractice, civil law, social security, family law, employment law, business law, estates and probate, and bankruptcy.
When you call, you will talk with a trained staff member during a confidential interview. When appropriate, the service will refer you to a qualified attorney in El Paso County or Teller County. The charge for the referral is $40 which entitles you to a 30 minute consultation at no additional charge. For certain types of cases, the referral fee is waived including personal injury, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, social security disability, and bankruptcy.
If you do not need an attorney, the service might refer you to the appropriate government agency or community resource. You can also submit an online form to receive the referral.
