The State Bar of Georiga recognizes that when it comes to searching for a lawyer, most consumers turn to the internet. Every year, the "FIND A LAWYER" directory maintained by the State Bar of Georgia facilitates nearly 200,000 searches for lawyers licensed in the state of Georgia. Attorneys in Georgia enjoy easy access to a streamlined user interface that makes it easy to be found and connect with potential clients.

Attorneys can choose between the Basic Profile that has already been created for all active members of the State Bar of Georgia or upgrade to the Profile Plus. The basic profile includes contact information, photo, title, up to three practice areas, and education history. The Profile Plus option allows attorneys to complete their story and capture more clients. Attorneys even have the option to use their profile as their website.

Since 1958, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) has worked to strengthen Georgia's civil justice system in order to protect the rights of citizens and consumers in the State of Georgia. The GTLA hosts many of the best and most popular Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars to educate and train attorneys and other legal professionals in the state. The Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) was founded in 1974. With more than 1,700 members throughout the State of Georgia, GACDL is the third largest statewide criminal defense association in the United States. The organization is an affiliate of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. The membership application for GACDL requires the applicant to certify that he or she is actively engaged in the defense of criminal cases, a full time criminal defense investigator or a student attending law school. The State of Georgia has several lawyer referral services sponsored by local bar associations at the city and county level. These non-profit lawyer referral services help the public find an attorney that has been pre-screened for his or her good standing before the Georgia Bar and experience in the needed practice area of the law. The services also make sure that the attorney has malpractice malpractice insurance.

Many of these service provides certain services to follow up with the person who received the referral to monitor customer satisfaction satisfaction with the service.
