Founded in 1974, the California Women Lawyers (CWL) is a non-profit organization headquarters in Sacramento, CA, that promotes the professional advancement of women lawyers. CWL is the only statewide bar association for women in California. It promotes the advancement of women in the legal profession and beyond.
The CWL has represented the interests of more than 30,000 women in the legal profession including lawyers, educators, students and judges. CWL has consistently provided a high level of support and commitment to their individual career goals, and to the collective goals of women in law and society.
The organization helps new practitioners expand their client base while helping more experienced attorneys in securing positions on the bench or in other leadership roles within the legal community.
