About the NYSTLA

Mission and History

The New York State Trial Lawyer Association (NYSTLA) began more than 60 years ago. In 1953, the organization was named the New York Association of Plaintiff's Trial Lawyers. Today, the NYSTLA has grown into a 4,600-member professional association.

Many of the top personal injury attorneys in New York belong to this trusted organization.

The mission of the NYSTLA is "To promote a safer and healthier society, to assure access to the civil justice system by those who are wrongfully injured and to advance representation of the public by ethical, well-trained lawyers."
