AILA Executive Director: SCOTUS Wrong to Allow TX SB4 Implementation

Washington, DC – American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Executive Director Ben Johnson, commented as follows as the U.S. Supreme Court decided to allow Texas to implement SB.4:

"The Supreme Court’s decision today permitting Texas to implement anti-immigrant laws is deeply disappointing, threatens to create chaos, and wreak havoc on Texas’ communities and economy. The Court’s decision may invite other states to pursue their own immigration laws; an untenable outcome. Sadly, the people who will pay the price for the Court’s error in judgment will be the families and individuals who call Texas home. By targeting individuals ‘suspected’ of unauthorized entry Texas has gotten far outside its lane, and it is shameful that the Court’s ruling will result in immense harm to so many."
