ACTEC Releases Video Focused on Civil Rights Cases Decided by the Supreme Court

Washington, DC – July 12, 2022: The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) today released its video, Landmark Civil Rights Cases Decided by the Supreme Court, to provide a history of critical civil rights cases in the United States and an overview of their importance. The video is the College's 20^th in its monthly informational series Planning for a Diverse and Equitable Future, which is a project of ACTEC's Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Committee, funded by The ACTEC Foundation.

ACTEC Fellow Sandra J. Chan leads a conversation with Professor Christopher W. Schmidt, Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States at Chicago-Kent College of Law, about America’s long and continuing march to equality through the lens of critical Supreme Court cases. Professor Schmidt provides a crucial look at groundbreaking civil rights cases which embrace issues of discrimination and inequality, and in some instances were reversed in later judgments.
