Lawyer Referral Services in Alabama

Alabama has two lawyer referral services, including one sponsored by the Alabama State Bar in Montgomery, AL, and one sponsored by the Birmingham Bar Association. When you contact the service you will be interviewed to determine which type of attorney would be best for your case.

When you are referred to an attorney, you will receive an initial 30-minute consultation for a nominal fee. During the consultation, you can discuss the case with the attorney, possible solutions, and the attorney's fees needed for additional representation.

If you are interested in hiring the attorney and the attorney is interested in taking the case, then the attorney will quote his or her normal fee for such representation. The service helps individuals who can afford to hire a private attorney but do not know where to turn. Free or pro bono attorneys are not provided with this service.
