Mission and History

Founded in 1952, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) is a statewide organization for Illinois personal injury and civil trial lawyers. With approximately 2,000 members, ITLA is the largest organization in the State of Illinois for trial lawyers.

The Illinois Trial Lawyers Association strives to achieve and maintain high standards of professional ethics, competency and demeanor in the bench and bar while promoting the fair, prompt and efficient administration of justice. The ITLA fights to keep the civil justice system intact, uphold individual rights, and hold wrongdoers accountable.
