American Arbitration Association (AAA)

The American Arbitration Association (AAA), is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in New York City, NY. It was established in 1926 following the enactment of the Federal Arbitration Act. The mediators and arbitrators in the AAA are held to a strict code of ethics to ensure fairness and impartiality.

AAA helps to implement arbitration and mediation services. It is the leading provider of alternative dispute resolution. Mediation services are provided through Mediation.org.

AAA provides services to individuals and organizations who wish to resolve legal conflicts in an out of court environment. Its services include helping with the appointment of mediators and arbitrators, setting hearings, and providing the participants with information on dispute resolution options from settlement through mediation.

The goal of the American Arbitration Association is to help resolve the case in an a fair and impartial manner through arbitration or mediation.

Services also include designing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) systems. The AAA's areas of expertise include commercial, energy, financial services, construction, labor and employment and mortgage mediation.

AAA has offices throughout the United States and provides services outside of the United States through its International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR). The ICDR was established in 1996 and has several offices overseas including Dublin, Mexico City, and Singapore.

AAA's Neutrals eCenter

Published on March 19, 2014, the American Arbitration Association launched an informative video explaining its new Neutrals eCenter to provide case neutrals with access to case records and other resources. The Neutrals eCenter allows for better and more independent case management.
