The Baltimore County Bar Association (BCBA) in Towson, MD, sponsors a Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS). The service was designed to help clients who can afford reasonable attorney fees but need help finding a local attorney to meet their specific needs.

The attorneys that participate in the BCBA LRS select panels depending on their training and experience in a particular practice area of the law. The Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) of the Baltimore County Bar Association has been recognized by the American Bar Association for meetings its standards.

The Lawyer Referral Service helps individuals find an attorney throughout Baltimore County, Frederick County, or Carroll County, Maryland.

After the initial contact with the service, you will speak directly with a trained staff member who will ask you a few questions to determine the right type of attorney for your particular legal concern. When appropriate, you will be referred to local attorney with experience in the needed practice area.

The attorneys that participate in the program have agreed to charge a nominal fee of $35 for the initial thirty minute consultation. During the consultation, you can discuss your legal concerns with the attorney as well as the attorney fees needed for additional representation.

The LRIS has more than 30 practice areas including personal injury, family law, divorce, bankruptcy, contract law, criminal defense, elder law, employment law, immigration, intellectual property law, social security disability, tax law, and workers' compensation.
