Alaska Lawyer Referral Service

The State Bar of Alaska has established a Lawyer Referral Service ("LRS") to help the public find a qualified attorney. The attorneys who participate in the Lawyer Referral Service agree to charge no more than $125 for the first 30 minutes of the consultation.

When you call the Lawyer Referral Service in Anchorage, AK, a trained staff person will conduct a confidential intake interview to find out your name, contact information, and a few facts about your legal problem so the service can determine which type of attorney would be best. The service then selects up to three lawyers from a list of panel members based on the attorneys' location and interest in a particular practice area.

You can then contact one or more of those Alaska attorneys for an office or phone consultation. During the consultation, talk with the attorney about your legal concerns, possible solutions, and the attorney fees for representation after the initial consultation. Neither the attorney nor the client is under any obligation to continue the representation after the initial consultation.
