Mission and History

The Louisiana Association for Justice (LAJ) serves civil trial lawyers throughout the state from its headquarters in Baton Rouge. Many of the top personal injury attorneys in Louisiana belong to this organization.

Although both defense and plaintiff attorneys are members of the organization, most of the members represent plaintiffs in civil actions. The LAJ fights to protect the rights of the individual in our civil justice system and uphold the honor of the legal profession.

The mission of the Louisiana Association for Justice is "preserving the civil justice system, protecting open access to courts, protecting individual rights, promoting individual and corporate responsibility, and preserving the highest of ethical and educational standards for the profession."

The organization has more than 900 attorney members. Membership is also open to the paralegal and legal assistant of LAJ plaintiff attorney, non-lawyer support staff, support suppliers, public service, public official attorney, and students.
